"ROBERT ADAMS, who married PATIENCE HULL, was born in either Pennsylvania or
North Carolina, it was said by one of his daughters, but the probability is in
favor of Pennsylvania. He had seven brothers and sister as follows:
ALEXANDER; JOHN; JAMES (a Presbyterian minister); MARY, who married Judge
BAIRD in Ohio; MARGARET, who a Mr. Heath in Kentucky; Nancy, who married a Mr.
Pinkerton in Ohio; Eleanor, who married a Mr. Smith. ROBERT ADAMS and wife
[PATIENCE HULL] moved from Bardstown, Kentrucky, to near Chillicothe, Ohio, in
1797. Their oldest child, MARY [MARY BAIRD ADAMS], was born in Kentucky. At
the farm near Paint Creek, in the vicinity of Chillicothe, Mr. Adams had a
mill, no doubt actuated by horse power. He built a substantial frame house,
for part of it was still in use when Mrs. Keltie MCCOY visited the place a
very few years ago. After his death, which evidently occured in 1817, his
widow managed the farm for some years with the help of her sons and daughters,
all of whom were energetic workers."????????????????????????????????????????

BIOGRAPHY: "FAMILY RECORDS OF THE ADAMS, MILLS, AND HUMASON FAMILIES";
Franklin Burwell Mills, privately printed, Chicago, IL, 1921, pp. 7-13:
"PATIENCE (HULL) ADAMS was born on Christmas morning, 1776, within sound of
the cannon during the Battle of Trenton, New Jersey. Her father, ISAAC HULL
JR., and her grandfather, ISAAC HULL SR. were both in the Continental Army.
"...PATIENCE (HULL) ADAMS ... died April 22, 1852, at the Reed Farm, near
the Cross Roads, in Clinton county, Ohio, and was buried at the Spurgeon
graveyard (many years ago abandoned and left unfenced), near where Reeseville
now stands. Her grave has a monument. ...(H)er stories of the Revolution and
of the Indian Wars were of absorbing interest. Her one expression of
impatience when we youngsters were patricularity trying was "You Little
Hessians!" Among my memories of her is that of seeing her sitting by the
fireplace sewing or engaged in knitting our socks. A sweet-tempered, kindly,
diligent soul she was and she endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
"After (her husband ROBERT ADAMS) death, which evidently occured in 1817,
his widow managed the farm for some years with the help of the sons and
daughters, all who were energetic workers. Then the farm was sold and the
widow went to live with her children, nearly all of whom were by that time
married."BIOGRAPHY: 1820 census: FHL #0,181,398; ;;p. 233:
