Clark entered the law office of Hon. L.R. Critchfield, ex attorney general of
Ohio at Cleveland. Was admitted to the bar in the spring of 1878 and returned
to Caldwell in the fall of 1878. He and his wife then moved to Caldwell, OH
where he practiced law. Clark served as Clerk of Caldwell from 1884 to 1886.
He also served a term as mayor of Caldwell around the year 1891. Clark was
republican and Methodist.
