John DENBOW [Parents] was born in 1797 in Harford,Md. He died on 26 Jul 1862 in Bolivar,Tn. He married Martha SHARP about 1818 in Harford,Md.

John was the father of Bazzel, Levi, Martin, James, William, and George who
fought with the OVI (Ohio Volunteer Infantry) in the Civil War. He enlisted
at age 63, saying he was 44. According to several entries in his military
record, he died in Paducah, apparently of 'chronic dysentery.' Another entry
says he died about a month later in Bolivar, Tennessee. Family tradition had
said he died in a creek with his long hair frozen. The Bolivar, TN story
would be more consistent with the Denbow family story.

Martha SHARP was born in 1798 in Harford,Md. She died in 1855 in Farm near Lewisv,Monroe,Oh. She married John DENBOW about 1818 in Harford,Md.
